WIR Currency
A sustainable economy that is fit for the future and brings high prosperity to Switzerland. This is possible with a complementary currency like the CHW. It adapts to our economic as well as social situation and strengthens the backbone of our success factor - the SMEs. And together with the CHF, they form a strong team that unites.
In 2004, the WIR franc was given the three-digit letter code CHW according to ISO 4217, corresponding to the national currency CHF (Swiss franc). At store or hotel entrances in Switzerland, the WIR signet indicates that services can be paid for in whole or in part in CHW.
